Homemade Chili Oil

Italy is the chao in any conversation; it means having cafe macchiato instead of the cappuccino after 12pm! Italy can be found in the taste of the balsamic vinegar and in the al dente pasta. Whether you are interested in history, or in nature’s beauty, Italy will definitely be the destination.  Believe is the other side of Italy’s coin, therefore, throw your coins in the Trevi and wish for the best!

Homemade Chili Oil

When I was in Italy, I saw a huge variety of flavored oils that overwhelmed my imagination. However, it was impossible to buy everything single bottle available in the market! When I came back home, I decided to do my own flavored oil. I bought an extra virgin olive oil, and chili flakes; I mixed them together in a glass bottle and set it aside for a while (around two weeks). After doing this experiment, I’ve discovered a new way of supplying my kitchen with its need of flavored oil without running out of stock. The options are unlimited when it comes to the flavors that you can have!

Ingredients

1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil

1 tablespoon chili flakes

Making the Chili Oil

1. Place the olive oil in a clean glass bottle.

2. Add the chili flakes to the oil and set aside for approximately two weeks.

Enjoy with love,

Maryam
