Another trip to Dubai and guess what .. It impressed me more!

My trip to Poland changed its direction. Last week I found myself enjoying Dubai again! I have just visited Dubai few months ago with my family and I really enjoyed being there. Although I didn’t visited all the point of interst there in my first trip since it was very short one; I couldn’t do that much in four days including the traveling days from and to Kuwait and companied by old women and a child.

That’s why when I came to know that my business trip to Poland was cancelled and that I’m going to Dubai instead I thought that will be fair enough for me. I can go and see the places I didn’t visited in my last trip.

Although it is too hot these days the sightseeing was irresistible. Dubai is full of tourists from all over the world the whole year .. that’s amazing! As a middle easterners and as a gulf countries it is a matter of fact that we don’t have anything except oil. No fascinating weather nor beautiful nature. The natural resources are ZERO, that’s why we can not be industrial countries at all. All we have are these three .. Sun .. dessert .. and oil.

So, when I see people travelling from all over the world to visit a place, in consideration of the limited resources it has, then I should admit that it’s people are really doing a remarkable job. And if a person is welling to do something to make his life and other’s life better then I have to praise him/her.

The best two tours I took in this trip were visiting the top of Burj Khalifa and taking a small boat and sail between Dubai and Dehraa. I LOVE IT!

Being at the top and see all the high buildings far below where you are standing is strange unforgettable feeling. What I’m used to is to raise my head whenever I want to look to a such building. However, Being at the top of Burj Khalifa reverse everything to the opposite; now I have to look down to see the same buildings.

What amused me most is that this building is a clear and very big example on how a dream can be a reality no matter what it is. And thinking of all the hard work, all the commitment, all the challenge, all the people behind this huge building, and how they worked together just to remind us who we really are and what we can do is … more than enough to rethink of the gift of being here and now, and what we want to do with it.

There are three bridges which connect Dubai and Dehraa. In addition, there are small boats that transfer the people from and to Dubai and Dehraa. There are also bigger boats decorated with lights all over it which can be considered as floating restaurants. It takes you in a tour all the way from Ras Alkhor to the Ports and Customs, where you can enjoy eating your dinner and sightseeing in the same time.

Another place I enjoyed being in is marian walk and jumeirah beach residence. Both are remarkable places which should be visited. There are a lot of cafes and restaurants. The view is awesome and if you want to stretch your legs, then this is the place for that.

I met an English man, in the hotel I stayed in, while taking the elevator. He told me that he saw the sun is shining which made him feel that the weather outside is good for exercising. For his bad luck this idea turned to be A VERY BAD ONE. He told me “it was very hot and I couldn’t bare it“. So just a note for people coming from cold countries. If you are a summer visitor please take in consideration that Dubai as all gulf countries very hot and humid in the same time. In my opinion the best time if you want to walk or exercise, is in the dawn time or after sunset.

enjoy with love,

Maryam
