I believe by the end of this post the Teriyaki legend will be completed by cheesecake for all. Starting from the sauce basics which was really fun to do and to learn in the same time, to the Salad and ending with the Salmon teriyaki (which was my main course). Although, the recipes were done in different days and several occasions still the relation between them was clearly noticeable. In fact, it was a journey in the teriyaki world.
I made this salad for my sister (as always, I try the new recipes on her). To be brief and make the long story short .. SHE LOVED IT! and couldn’t resist not finishing the whole plate in minutes. All the thanks for you Kevin, I really like your closet cooking blog.
Teriyaki Mushroom Salad
Adapted from closet cooking, some changes and modifications were applied.
Ingredients
1 tablespoon olive oil (or butter)
1/2 pound mushrooms (sliced)
1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
1 handful salad greens
1 handful grape tomatoes
1 green bell pepper
1 green onion (sliced), I didn’t have green onion so I used the white one, However I believe it tastes better with the green onion.
Making the salad
1.Heat the oil in a frying pan.
2. Add the mushrooms and saute until it caramelizes, about 10-15 minutes.
3. Add the teriyaki sauce and simmer to reduce to thicken.
4. In the mean time place the salad greens in the serving plate.
5. Pour the mushrooms and teriyaki sauce onto the salad.
enjoy with love,
Maryam

a wonderful salad, indeed. i love the addition of the teriyaki sauce – something you don’t see typically in salads, but with mushrooms, i’m sure it is a winner!
