Grounded dry Thyme mixed with sesame and virgin olive oil, is a very well known dish in the Arab world, specially here in Kuwait. As we were kids, I remember that we used to fell our sandwiches with this heavenly tasted paste. Simply place it in the grill for 2-3 minutes, then with a big bite you can taste the most delicious breakfast ever, which will melt in your mouth and you will ask for another and another bite!
It is well known in our culture that this type of food (the dried thyme + sesame+virgin olive oil) increases your intelligence. I’m not sure if this information is true or not. However, I believe the taste is more important than the intelligence when it comes to a hungry stomach!
When I thought of making this salad, I took the original sandwich idea and converted it into a healthy tasty gluten free salad, which can also be eaten (if you want) with any kind of bread, sandwich, or even you can make your own cottage cheese with dry thyme pizza! In fact, you can also eat it with a tablespoon, if you don’t want to add flour to your diet. Just you and the salad! Believe me it is mouthwatering by itself!
Cottage cheese with dry thyme salad
In addition, you can use any kind of cheese you prefer! This recipe is flexible enough to satisfy your craving in the way you deserve to be satisfied by. All you need to make is the basic salad .. three to four ingredients only, then the most delicious plate will be between both of your hands.
1 cup cottage cheese
1/4 cup thyme , dried and grounded
3 to 4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
3 tablespoon sesame, optional
Making the salad
Place te cottage cheese in a serving plate or small bowl. Mix the thyme with extra virgin olive oil and sesame. Pour the thyme-olive oil mixture on the top of the cheese.
