Teriyaki Sauce

We used (my sisters, brother and I) whenever we disagree on where to eat, the typical answer would be MAKI.  Maki, is a very well known Japanese restaurant in Kuwait. Nowadays, my sisters make the long way short by ordering home delivery and enjoy eating while watching TV.

You may ask what about you? don’t you feel like wanting to join them? Well, I noticed something when I started going raw. Carving for cooked food whether it’s your favorite dish or meal will be non visible to you most of the time. You can notice the carvings if you are surrounded with a loving family members or friends and sitting on a table full of delicious dishes. However, in this situation your carving will be there for sharing the food with others not for the food itself. If you are following raw lifestyle and wanting to make a balance in the same time,  my advice to you will be join them and have fun.

By mistake I bought a raw salmon instead of smoked one, so I started to search for a cooked salmon recipe and found several teryaki salmon recipes. I remembered the taste of the last chicken teryaki dish I ate at Maki, it was delicious. I don’t think I would say the same for a seafood dish. I rarely eat seafood and when I do I make sure that it was cleaned very well and seasoned for the whole night. I decided to take the challenge and prepare my first seafood dish here. So I printed the recipe and went through the ingredients to make sure that I have them all. The recipe I got mentioned two sauces to be used together to make the teriyaki sauce which I don’t have. I wished if I just could have a recipe that tells you exactly how to make your own teryaki sauce from scratch.

Luckily enough, I found a very simple teriyaki sauce recipe and from scratch in an Arabic forum. That’s way I decided to make a complete post only for How To Make a Teriyaki Sauce. I always had the idea that Japanese sauces are the most difficult thing to prepare. But after implementing this one I discovered that it was really easy. The taste was also more than what I expected; it is exactly the same as the original. In addition to that it is homemade. Fair deal or maybe more isn’t it?
