BBR smoothie

How would you spend the first days in the new year? For me, I wanted to spend it with some one I love and care about! That’s way the first two days were spent with family and friends. Although we gathered in our tiny house, but it was the best gathering ever! Specially when you spend most of your time with the smallest members in the family, the kids! I took my cousins’ daughters, one is 4 years old (her name is Ghizlan) and the other is 2 years old (here name is Lojain), outside to enjoy the warm sun and the fresh cool air. It was the best chance to take some pictures for both of them. For the oldest one, Ghizlan,  it was easy to take some good shots of her here and there. But of the smallest, Lojain, it was really hard and challenging. Usually, when I want to picture any recipe the location of the food is not an issue. If this place is not good or the amount of light is not enough, I can change the direction to another. I discovered by the hard way that this is completely unimplementable with Kids. Specially for a two year’s kid! It was very hard to convince her to go here or to move there. Especially that she was very hardheaded child. After some fruitless shots, I decided to try something different. There was a cat which was roaming here and there , what I noticed is that Lojain was exited about it. Therefore, I deiced to create a conversation with her about that cat and convince here to obey what I asking her in an indirect way. Guess what, she started to respond to me and that was what I needed to get from her.

The best thing about picturing kids, although they are so hard to picture, is that when you get a successful smile shot it will be so natural and pure. Whenever I see a smiling kid I would feel that everything is just okay even if I’m not in a good mood.

Tomorrow my friends and  I are planning to go to the Salmiya beach again to have fun, enjoy the sun and the sea sight.

I found these berries in LuLu hypermarket by coincidence. I didn’t expect that I may find berries especially in this time of the year. It is very difficult to find fresh berries in Kuwait even in the season ,because of the high temperature.   That’s why I didn’t think twice about it, and picked them directly. When I reached home, I though what could I do with them. I didn’t want to keep them in the fridge for long time. So I decided to blend them with dates,to add some sweetness, and ice ,for freshness, to create and invent my own smoothie. I guess invention became a habit which is good thing in my opinion. When I tasted it, I found that I just tasted the best smoothie ever. It is so fresh, refreshing and a healthy combination ever.

BBR smoothie stands for Blackberry, Blueberry and raspberry smoothie. In my work we use shortcuts for everything. That’s why I decided to shortcut this smoothie to BBR!

If there is a word that is simpler than simple, it would be this recipe. If there is a word that is healthier than healthy, it would be this recipe. All you have to do is buy the berries and enjoy the taste. Happy new year every one!

BBR ingredients

1/2 cup blueberry

1/2 cup blackberry

1/2 cup raspberry

dates, 3 pieces

5 ice cubes, crushed

BBR making

Wash all the berries and the dates thoroughly. Using a blender, mix all the ingredients and blend them till you get a smooth mixture. Pour the smoothie in a cup or a glass and serve immediately.

So I did it! Number one on the top 9 in foodbuzz. That’s really thrilling!!
