I dreamed a dream in time gone by
When hope was high
And life worth living
I dreamed that love would never die
I dreamed that God would be forgiving
Then I was young and unafraid
And dreams were made and used and wasted
There was no ransom to be paid
No song unsung, no wine untasted
But the tigers come at night
With their voices soft as thunder
As they tear your hope apart
And they turn your dream to shame
He slept a summer by my side
He filled my days with endless wonder
He took my childhood in his stride
But he was gone when autumn came
And still I dream he’ll come to me
That we will live the years together
But there are dreams that cannot be
And there are storms we cannot weather
I had a dream my life would be
So different from this hell I’m living
So different now from what it seemed
Now life has killed the dream I dreamed.

Susan Bolye, the most beautiful voice I heard in my whole life ever, and I think it will be the last. Her voice is a legend by itself. I’m not interested in music that much. Rarely, I get interested in a particular song or an artist. But from the first time I heard the song, I dreamed a dream, I couldn’t resist not listening to it. I kept repeating and repeating it over and over again. Although I didn’t understand anything in the beginning but I really felt every word entered my heart directly. In fact, what enterned my heart was the voice not the words! I never felt like this before .. It is strange to come to know that just a voice can change your mood, feelings, and thinking! Now I know it can.
Thank you Susan for giving me the opportunity to feel the what I felt while listening to your voice..

Yesterday, I was reading the last lecture by Randy Pausch. I read only the first ten pages and it also was talking about dreams (I think that is a sign to work on my dream to be a realty) .. Very interesting and touching book. When you start reading, you will feel that the author is talking to you directly and no one else. He wanted to send a message for his kids. But what he really did was, he sent a message to the world, to the people, to us.
What makes you/me unique ? what makes your life meaningful? what defines your life? what the path you want to find?Very interesting book which I’m planning to read it all.

We are in the days where dreams come true .. so don’t forget to dream ..

The original recipe is Chilli Cheese Tortilla with Fresh Tomato Salsa. Although I like to eat chilli food, i’m allergic to them. That’s why I have made my changes to accommodate it with what I can eat.
Adapted from 365 main courses
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 small onion thinly sliced
200g cold cooked potato thinly sliced
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
6 eggs, beaten
salt and ground black pepper
fresh herbs to garnish
for salsa
500g tomatoes, peeled seeded and finely chopped
2 garlic cloves crushed
3 tablespoons fresh coriander
juice of 1 lime
1/2 teaspoon salt

making the salsa
put the tomatoes in a bowl and add the crushed garlic, coriander, lime juice and salt. Mix well and set aside.
for the cheese tortilla
Heat one tablespoon of the olive oil in a large omelette pan and gently cook onion for 5 minutes, stirring until softened. Add the potato and cook for another 5 minutes, until lightly browned. Keeping the slices whole. Using a slotted spoon, transfer the vegetables to a warm plate. Then wipe the pan with kitchen paper. Add the remaining oil and heat until really hot. Return the vegetables to the pan. Sprinkle the cheese over. Season.
Pour the beaten eggs, making sure that they seep under the vegetables. Cook the tortilla over a low heat, without stirring and cover until set. Cut into wedges, granished with fresh herbs and witht the salsa on the side. Serve hot or cold both are delicious!

enjoy with love,
Maryam

Enya’s songs move me in the way that Ms. Boyle’s voice moved you. Some of the songs in Phantom of the Opera can completely take me away. I love that feeling.
As for the recipe, it looks so good. I’ll have to try it. Love the photography.
I never knew the lyrics of this song until now. Thank you for posting them. Your photographs and recipes are amazing. I want to get my fork and plate. Save a place for me at table, would you? I like that the emotions from the music touch your heart and that you are unafraid to share your feelings with the rest of the world. Well done.
Yes of course, there is a chair already reserved for you! and thanks for your kind words ..
